Our OTs have extensive experience working with clients who are neurodivergent, which includes a broad spectrum of lived experiences (including Autism, ADHD, neurological differences, mental health conditions and more).
We provide tailored, neuro-affirming therapies that respect each person’s unique needs and sensory preferences, helping them positively engage with their environment and community.
In every client interaction we practice trauma-informed care and aim to facilitate safer and empowered health service engagement for our clients.
Our OTs are recruited with lived experience and or allyship with LGBTQIA+ communities.
Queer and or trans identity can be central to the OT support you are seeking, for example exploring community connections, activities of daily living that explore/affirm your identity, advocacy within a clinical care team or other settings (such as school or work).
Alternatively, many queer and or transgender folks are seeking OT for a range of other life goals and are seeking a service that will honour and respect their identity in every instance, which Thrive Rehab OTs will always do.
At Thrive Rehab, we aim to provide a safe, inclusive and trauma informed approach for people to explore their sexuality, intimacy, and relationships.
We work with individuals across the lifespan to learn about: consent, body autonomy, anatomy, sexual safety, exploring intimacy and pleasure, sexualised behaviours, online safety, sexual orientation and more.
Thrive Rehab can work directly with clients and/or collaborate with their team to complete assessments and guide future educational programs and recommendations.
We recognise that accessing therapy can be challenging for a variety of reasons. Whether due to mobility issues, communication or sensory needs, safety, geographic distance, or other factors, Thrive Rehab offers flexible/accessible therapy options. We can offer: on site appointments at our clinic a purpose built space that meets a range of accessibility needs, telehealth appointments facilitated online or by phone, or can meet you in your home/an agreed upon location in the community.
Navigating the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can be complex, but our team has in-depth experience in supporting clients through the process.
Whether you’re new to the scheme or require ongoing assistance, we provide guidance on NDIS plans, helping clients understand their options and advocating for therapies that align with their personal goals.
At Thrive Rehab, we recognise the intersections of identities and understand that the environments our clients need to navigate are just as important to consider as the person themselves.
Our OTs are guided by the priorities of the client, rather than assuming we know what is needed. We honour each client as the expert of their own lived experience and aim to empower clients with the skills, strategies/systems, resources, connection to community and advocacy to do more than survive but thrive in their life story.
